Trio

Opus 3

Piano: Melanie Reinhard
Violine: Christopher White
Cello: Jonas Seeberg

About

Opus 3 have been performing together for more than fifteen years since meeting in Zurich in 1996. Inspired by the overwhelming masterworks of Beethoven, Schubert, Mozart, and others, these performers with very diverse backgrounds, came together because of the shared passion to perform music in a unique way.

While being known for the special homogeneity of their playing, they also regularly try to include in their programmes rarely heard duo and solo works as well as quartets and quintets with invited guest artists.

„The thick texture of violin and cello was telling, and the piano added its glowing melodic layer and power; each dance had its character, and was played with plenty of panache and intensity.“

“Dvorák's 'Dumky’ trio... here the glowing tone and finely articulated textures were ravishing.”

“From the first bars of Brahms' Trio Op 87 another sound-world: dark, chromatic, passionate, at times achingly nostalgic.”.

“The group's account of Schubert's Piano Trio in B flat Op 99 to conclude was full of magical highpoints and ravishing sonorities.”
